Good Friday & Happy Easter!

(These beautiful photos courtesy of Flickr public photos))
Hope you are all having a blessed Good Friday and that you all enjoy Easter weekend with your families and friends. We're going to GA for Easter & will be back Sunday night.

This is from my devotional from today....Max Lucado writes: "The crown of thorns Jesus wore represented all our sins. As we were caught in the brambles of envy, anger, shame, discouragement, guilt, bitterness, & unforgiveness, so Jesus, who knew no sin, became an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:10). Not once did Christ use his supernatural powers for personal comfort. With a word He could have transformed the hard earth into a soft bed...boomeranged the spit of His accusers back into their faces...and paralyzed the hand of the soldiers who braided the thorns. But, he didn't. Instead, God canceled the record that contained the charges against us...by nailing it to the cross (Col. 2:14), and He did it with you in mind!"

No wonder hymnist Isaac Watts wrote: "See from His head, His hands, His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down! Did e'er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?"

Good Friday was and is a special day for remembrance...but, the true and everlasting story comes on Easter morn.

He is risen....He is risen, indeed!

Rhoda, THANK YOU for sharing that from Max Lucado. Today I didn't get to go to the usual Good Friday Service, I have been so blessed though. On several blogs God allowed me to read his word, worship him through song, and now your sharing has made my day complete. Our God is good, always.

Happy Easter! Lidy
