Nashville's Opryland Hotel

During my recent visit to Nashville, we had the pleasure of staying across the street from the Opryland Hotel...OK, so staying inside the Opryland would have been better, but this will have to do. So we walked over there during the day & at night to take in this wonderful place. If you've never been there (like I had not), you will be awed! This is one magnificent's a hotel, amusement park, & mall all wrapped up in one beautiful package & you will walk around with your mouth hanging open. I sure did! I took lots of pics, so go on a tour with me. You'll love it as much as I did.
This is outside going into the front entrance.
The lobby.

When you enter the hotel, you walk through corridors & come out into this large atrium. The walkways just wind around and through the hotel and this is the scenery that's all around you.
There are many places to sit, eat & enjoy the views. Here is some sort of outdoor cafe. You can see all the hotel rooms in the background. This is all glass enclosed...a huge atrium.
Looking down from a walkway above.
A waterfall surrounding the cafe, with a beautiful pond.

More of the waterfall.
More outdoor garden.
Isn't this beautiful? My mouth was agape the whole time.
I truly have never seen anything like this, ever. I'm sure it's a treat to stay here.

More restaurants & outdoor eating in the atrium.
I think this was another restaurant. Looks like a plantation from the old South.
Pavillion...we heard that there are lots of weddings here.

A beautiful fountain...I got a nice shot of this fountain at night too, down below.
More gardens & fountains. There are even gondola rides on a canal winding through this hotel.
More levels to Convention Center.
This area looks just like the French Quarter in New Orleans.
One of the shops that's there.
This is my friend, Debbie (R) and her daughter Tiffany (L), shopping for some bling. They were my roomies on this trip. And here's the fountain at night. I hear that the Opryland Hotel is not to be missed at Christmas. I can just imagine what a wonderland it must be all decked out for the Holidays. I'd love to see that! Hope you enjoyed the little tour of Opryland. Maybe we can all go for a visit one day!
My 100th post is coming up next week, so you don't want to miss the giveaway!! Yippppeee!!

Oh my gosh those pictures are breathtaking! I can't even begin to fathom how gorgeous it must be at Christmas. Thank you so much for sharing them. I will definitely put that on my to-do list. Visit Opryland! I love country music and watch the Grand Old Opry any chance I get.

Thanks again for the tour. It was amazing!

I spent several days at the Opryland Hotel back in the 80s when we had an editorial conference in Nashville. It was awesome then. Bet it's even better now.

How gorgeous!

p.s. Your friend and her daughter look more like sisters to me! =)

You need to go at Christmas - it is breathtaking. To be honest though, unless they've updated, the rooms are really nothing special.

I was wondering about the rooms there. We had brunch at the Opryland a couple of years ago. Beautiful place and the food is good too!

I've never been to Nashville but my husband has a cousin who is a Christian recording artist there (shameless plug - Jill Parr is her name - that girl's got quite a voice!)and lives right outside of Nashville.

Have a blessed day!

(BTW, did you get your hair cut shorter recently?)

You're right about seeing it at Christmas. Nashville is my hometown and even though I've been to the Opryland Hotel for many years during the holidays, I still love to go. It's just so beautiful.

My brother-in-law got married there during the Christmas holidays. It was pretty and festive in a Disneyesque, artificial kind of way.

Great pictures Rhonda. Seeing them makes me want to go back for another visit. . . if only my husband goes to another convention there though, it's too costly if it would come out of the family budget LOL!! Did you see the live radio station being broadcasted too? That was fun to watch through the glass. It was down by the shops. At least it was in '97

Wow. I mean really. WOW.

This is where we spent our wedding night!
Our homemaker's lesson yesterday was on Southern Hospitality...the speaker pulled out a poster to show a few things and there was your blog banner!!! She had read your blog (we are the only two computer users in the whole group...) and she had googled SH and found you. I said "I know her!" It was so funny.

Just stunning! I've never been to that part of the country and I think I must! I had a "taste" of the south when I visited Atlanta and New Orleans, but there is so much more to see! One thing I love about the south is your gorgeous greenery (all the palms, etc.). It's a nice change from pine trees!
