So, where does all the yardsale junk go after a yardsale is over?? Well, to junk heaven, that's where. There's a place out past where we live called J & J Junk Sale (right on Hwy. 280 East for you AL girls) & I've stopped in there a couple of times. The place is jam-packed with all sorts of things. Not sure where it all came from, but it looks like it might be the remants of yardsale stuff all over the Southeast. In case you're wondering, I'm not much of a mall girl. Now, I can get dressed up with the best of them, but in my spare time, I'd rather hang out in a junkstore than the mall any day!
This is outside under the shed. All sorts of things out there to dig through. If you don't mind digging...which I don't.
Inside, there are rows & rows of stuff! A whole row of nothing but lace, ribbon, & old sewing items. There's no telling what you might find in here.
Plates, glassware, cups & mugs, all things glass. You know there has to be some great items tucked in here among the discards.
Knick-knacks galore! Granny would be proud to own a few of these.
More kitchen items.
Kitschy things abound.
Seashell wreath anyone?
Lamps and baskets. Everything I saw was very reasonably priced. Almost as good as yardsales.
Clear glass things & a few old tired vaccum cleaners.
Lampshades for those hard to fit lamps. Maybe this is where I need to look for a new lampshade for my recent vintage lamp find. Hummmmmm!
Lamps & floral supplies.
Remember those Floraline pottery pieces I wrote about awhile back...here's 2 of those, very cheap! I still like the color of these.
Old linens & there are rows & rows of clothes too.
Pillows a'plenty.
White vases and tucked among them was a pretty white pottery piece. I didn't buy it, but I will definitely check back from time to time. I think this one was $4.50, which isn't bad for a pretty white vase. This would definitely look good with my collection. Maybe I should have bought it!
More vintagey items.

Hi Rhoda and thanks for the stroll through Junk Heaven :) diane
Wow, this place is the ultimate for treasure hunting. I could spend hours there. It's good that they have thing categorized. This helps the buyer zero in on her area(s) of interest.
Rhoda, I hope you have a great weekend. Can't wait to see your pics!
Loved the tour through the junk store. You definitely need that white vase!
I think I might be able to pass the time away in that store. I think anyway....
Love,
Julie
Holy cow- I can't believe that place! It's amazing! Might have to make a trip to your neck of the woods just to take a peek!
That a whole lotta stuff there! I don't know if I'd have the energy to look through it all. Looks like a place you have to visit a couple times a week to really see everything.
Have fun in the mountains with your parents. I bet it's beautiful this time of year and hopefully they got some rain this week too.
Manuela
Okay, I must admit...I'm one of those that would prefer to go to a dentist than dig through junk, especially when it's piled up like that. I know some people do though. I can do yard sales, but not those shops.
Have a wonderful weekend in the mountains. I hope you get some great photo of the changing leaves. We have none here :-(
Hugs!
Kat
Wow Rhonda I could lay here and shop all day! Great post. Hope you have a great weekend.
Oh My! That place is filled to the rafters! Sure would love to spend an afternoon in there. Of course, I'd have to let my friends and family know where I was....a girl could get lost in there!
I just might have to take a trip to Birmingham soon to visit that place. What a collection!
Have a great weekend!
Oh my gosh...I didn't know that place was still up and running! Rhoda...you are seriously a wealth of information!! I used to hit that place back in 1990 when I first moved here...I was looking for books to fill up a room filled with floor to ceiling bookshelves. It's always fun to see where you've been...enjoy your weekend.
Rhoda,
What a great place!! I would be digging right along next to you.
Have a fun weekend away!
Rosemary
Oh my heavens. I can't believe how well organized that place is! I think your weekend sounds lovely. I can't wait to see what fall looks like in NC.
Well, That shop is a little slice of heaven in my eyes. Thank you for sharing. Have fun in the Mountains. Jamie
hey Rho! I would LOVE to find a place like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would get lost in all of the stuff! hope all is well with you! xo
From your pictures, everything in the junk store looks pretty cleaned up. I mean, you probably wouldn't need to take a shower immediately after exiting. The junk store in my area is the kind where you're as likely to pick up cooties as you are a bargain. :)
Hope you have a great Autumn weekend!
Okay, where is this place at? I think I need a road trip...And I'm serious. Jen
Definitely my kind of place! Why didn't you get the white vase & the floraline?
I saw a nice piece of floraline at a ys last week but didn't buy it.
I'd love to spend time in that place because I love treasure hunting.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs DebraK
OH MY! Not only could I go to this store, I could pitch a tent and camp in the parking lot until I made my way through each.and.every.shelf! Wow...wonder how long of a drive it is.......
Robin
My goodness I need to go and camp out there. A thrift /charity shoppers dream.
Great junk store-I love it! I too would rather rummage through a junk store than the mall any day. Thanks for the tour.
You're a better woman than me, Rhoda. Thought I could go junkin' as much as the next one. But after seeing all that, my eyes are glazed over!
Jacki
Wow - this shop looks like Junk Store heaven :-} ... If we had a shop like that in my town, I'd be there weekly :-} Thanks for the pictures Rhoda.
OMG! My mouth just dropped I would LOVE to spend the day there. I wish I could talk my husband in going there for a vaction. Well I think you might know that answer.I will have to try to find out if there is somewhere like that here in CA.
Have a wonderfu weekend

Oh my gosh, what a heavenly place!! I would LOVE to spend an hour or two there. I am so not a clutterbug, but I'm sure there are pieces of perfect treasure to be dug up.
Wow, that junk store looks like my kind of store!! I could pack a lunch and stay and dig all day.
Blessings!
Hi there...found your blog and a woman who thinks like me. I need to take a picture of our Goodwill where I love to spend time and search for that bargain. Great pictures!

oh my goodness. I need to go. How long does it take to get to there from Minnesota??
OH MY GOSH!! I have never seen so much stuff!!
The mother load of all junk stores for sure!!
I'm with you Rhoda, I would much rather go junkin than go to a Mall. Do not like Malls.
Wow! Can't imagine living near that temptation!
I don't remember how I found your blog but I'm SO glad I did! I LOVE it!
You HAVE to tell me where this junking bonanza store is! I'm in West GA, right on the AL border, so I'm dying to know if it's in driving distance from me!
Rhoda, we can't help but run into each other sooner or later. J&J is one of my stops. Actually, it's one of the first things I ever blogged about! LOL I had a few pictures, but yours capture the the spirit of the store so much better.
OOOOOooooooooo I'm just itching to get into that place! I saw lots of things I'd like to investigate.......unfortunately I live too far away!
Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
Wow. If you didn't post pictures it would be hard describe how large this place is. I don't I've ever seen anything so large. I hope you had fun.
Boy, would I like to take a stroll through that place. It would be my downfall I am sure. I have so much "stuff" now. Thanks for the great pics.
One man's trash is another man's treasure applies to this shop!
Hope you had a great trip, we just went up to Hendersonville NC today. Wow! I love that junk shop, that's just my kind of place!
OMGOSH!! I think I'm in heaven looking at those pictures!! I think I would have had to pitch a tent right there in the middle of the place and stay until they kicked me out! :)
Thanks so much Rhoda for stopping by my thread with the lovely words, I am going to put you on my blog desserts list so I can always come back here and drool. I just LOVE your banner.
*muah*

Rhoda,
How big is this place? I would definitely walk through...you never know what awaits...buried behind something you wouldn't want.....
We will go going to our cabin in a couple of weeks to winterize...sometimes we ride over to Murphy.....have fun....Betty
What a wonderful place. I could spend an entire weekend there! It reminds me of this great junk store we used to go to in New Bern, NC. It looked like a GIANT barn and it was filled with everything under the sun. My sister and I spent almost 3 hours in there one day. Loved it!!
Erin
OH MY! Had to laugh, this is the store for my hubby and me - both of our names start with J! What a treasure trove!!
