Do y'all like plates as much as I do? I seem to have collected plates for many years now & have them in just about every room of the house. Seems I can't get enough, as I just found these 4 on clearance at Homegoods (for $3 each) and I had to go back & get them. I did have some of my green bunny plates up here in my office nook, but this seems like a good spot for the new ones. I love the delicate damask pattern & the colors are so pretty, an almost chartreuse limey green, with an aqua band. They would look pretty on a tablescape too.
Black & white is a great combo with lime green, so these in my laundryroom are a nice mix in with all the garden things. The middle green one came from a yardsale & I think the small black/white ones came from Ross.
This is one of my yardsale finds from earlier this year. There was a set of 3 & this one happened to be a duplicate, so I kept it & added it to my somewhat tropical British Colonial guestbath, where it is right at home. This whole vignette is made up of yardsale finds over the years, including the little glass topped shelf.
Another Raymond Waites plate, this one was a gift from an online buddy several years ago & it's also in the guestbath.
I just adore black & white & these plates called my name from TJ Maxx, I think. I could move them to several places in the house & they would look great. Another green yardsale plate in the middle.
My dear mother-in-law gifted me with this blue/white Commander's Palace plate. I didn't even know what it was when I got it, but found out that it is a famous restaurant in New Orleans. It adds a lot of charm to this table & since I don't have a lot of blue/white in the livingroom, really stands out.
More black & white, this time with toile design & these came from Garden Ridge many years ago.
Raymone Waites again...these fruit plates were a favorite among some of my online friends a few years ago & I still haven't gotten tired of them. These are in the diningroom. Since I only found 2 of them at a decent price, I added the small fruit print in the middle rack & I really like the combo, instead of the expected set of 3.
I've showed these before too, but I have several blue/white plates in the bedroom that I found at Homegoods. That is a great store to find plates & their clearance prices can't be beat!
These pretty blue/green plates are a real favorite of mine too. There was a neat store in Atlanta that I used to shop at sometimes called Hill Street Warehouse. They had the neatest dishes & all sorts of imported pottery pieces. Sometimes they marked them down & you could find some decent prices. I bought these 3 and have used them several places over the years. Right now they are in the downstairs guestbath. I love the combo of the delicate colors in these particular plates. And, as you can see, this is where the yardsale wooden bird ended up. Isn't he adorable here? Hope you enjoyed the plate tour!

Good Golly Miss Molly!!! I love every thing you have done....your plates are gorgeous and the way you have them displayed is fabulous. Pardon me whilst I go back and drool over everything again!
I never thought about decorating with plates until I saw how lovely they look in your home. You've given me some fresh ideas.
My word, you do LOVE plates don't you? How creative you are. I love all that you use them all over your house! My mom is a dish fanatic, I need to show her this post!
I love decorating with plates also. Sometimes I wonder if I go overboard, but then I realize I like how it looks. I recently hung several plates that came from my grandmother's house in my dining room. I love how it looks.
My father has an extensive blue and white collection. Just yesterday, he moved into my sister's house. I took several of his plates and combined them with his vintage photos to make a nice arrangement on the wall. It looks lovely in there, even against the khaki walls. Very masculine too. He loved the finished product!
Thanks for sharing the pictures!
I love plates too! I think they look so homey and add something that pictures don't (I guess that round shape!) I haven't hung as many as I plan to yet, because our house needed so much work when we moved in, but I have them all stashed away ready to go up and I can't wait.
I have had trouble lately finding plate hangers, I think they are not as common as they used to be. I have also tried to find a horizontal plate hanger to go above doorways, and that has proved to be more challenging than I thought. When I do find them they aren't as pretty as I wish they were.
Thanks for sharing today!
Absolutely drooling back here in PA! I love when you share pictures of your home. It's exactly how I picture a Southern home in absolute perfection.
Love,
Julie
Well you know I love plates and like to use them everywhere too! We have the same black & white checkerboard plates! Can't wait to see the painted furniture!
Manuela
You have such style!
Rhoda, you certainly do have a large collection of beautiful plates. Each photo more gorgeous than the last! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you have such great taste & style. I'm inspired yet again by you. Thank you sweetie!

Of course I love those RW fruit plates! I am glad to see you still love yours as much as I love mine! I remember when everyone was making copies of mine to decoupage a few years back. Fun memory! And, those damask plates you've found are just delicious!
I love your plates and ideas. I love to collect different plates too. You can never have enough.
Thanks for sharing,
Rosemary
You DO have lots of plates! But, they all look wonderful. I enjoyed the tour.
Hugs!

Oh, yay! SO many creative ideas! I love plates but never buy them because I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them... well, now I do! One question: when you buy, how do you decide how many? DO you know in advance where you're going to use them? Do you usually buy the same # (2, 3, 4)?
~Angela :-)
Your new plates look fantabulous!
I love decorating with plates too! Easy and inexpensive way to fill a space. You have a beautiful collection!
Cathy
I love all your beautiful plates! I don't think I commented on your Hoppin' John post, but that looks yummy and I'm definitely going to give it a try.
Have a great week!
Oh yes, another plate addict here! I love all of yours Rhoda, especially the ones in your beautiful blue bathroom!

Kim
I love to use plates too, when decorating! I love what you have done!
Oh my Lord, another Plate Freak...that's what my husband calls me...I love plates and have them hung over every door and nearly every wall...thanks for sharing, can't wait to show Mac (WTHF) that it's NOT JUST ME!
I love decorating with plates, too and love Home Goods. I sometimes think I have too many plates, but the colors are so pretty and they look so classic that I just keep hanging them up!
Oh I LOVE all your plates! I just started doing this in my home as well.....I'm sure I saw one of your pics and it inspired me! I'm looking for some for our bedroom as well! I can't wait to see how your hubby's office turns out!
Love your collection of plates! Great job! Can't wait to see the end results of the painted furniture.
WOW! I don't think I've ever seen so many plates on a walls! They're all very pretty; I think the plates in the first pic are my faves. I'm not a plate-as-decor person in my home; it really struck me as odd the first time I saw someone's tableware on their walls and I wondered if they take them off the wall when it's time to eat - lol! Someone had to explain to me that they're used as artwork. Silly me! Yours are very lovely and very Rhoda!
I get such good ideas from your posts. You do realize that some book agent is going to snap you up one day. But you'll still have to keep posting here in your blog!
Your new plates are gorgeous! I use them everywhere too....so add me to the list of plate freaks!!! LOL...Thanks for sharing!

I love the look of decorating with plates as well. I used to have a lot of them up in my other house, but I haven't put them all up here. Not as much wall space as I had before, but you've inspired to to try and find a new little spots to display some.
By the way, I love the colour you've painted some of your rooms. I realize that colours don't come through the same on the computer, but what paint colours did you use in your foyer, bedroom, and dining room. On my computer screen they look like just the colours I'm wanting!
You have so many cute plates...we like the gold ones the best!!! (although they are all wonderful)!
Have a very, very, very blessed day!
smiles, kari and kijsa
Love plates! My son says I've over-done it with the plates but he's 11, what does he know?
I was hanging some in my bedroom today and while banging the nail on the wall, my hangings in my bathroom got rattled fell and broke (I wanted to cry- I cried!) Now that spot is empty and I couldn't figure out what to replace my hangings with. I thought plates, but my son's words and the fact I didn't think plates would look good in a bathroom put a stopper on that thought. Now reading you post, I might re-open that idea!
Rhonda, you are a girl after my own heart!!! I love, love, love every one of your plates, and I adore the different ways you have displayed them. You must have a gorgeous laundry room, btw! Mine is in the cellar with the cave crickets! LOL Thanks for the beautiful tour!
xoxo,
Mary
Wow. I'm still stuck on the display in your laundry room. I simply can't comprehend that -- my washer and dryer are in the dingiest, darkest, most spider-infested part of our unfinished basement!!
I love all the plates but I think the fruit ones are my favorite. I've never decorated with plates but I love everything you have done with them.
I love all of your plates and you have them displayed so beautifully!
Your walls look gorgeous!!
Blessings to you,
Erin

Rhoda, I loved seeing all of your plates...they are a lovely and colorful accent to each of your rooms. I have a definite "thing" for plates, also.

Donna

Linda
I love plates too and all of yours are just gorgeous. Love the way you have used them all over your home.
Hi Rhoda,
All of your plates are pretty, but my favourites are the red/white Spode plates against that fabulous yellow wall. A perfect combination!!
Linda
Didn't think anyone could beat me for the number of plates on the walls, but you're so far out of my league I can't even SEE you! Love your plates, some of which I have the same.
UJacki
Hey Rhoda!
I thought I knew about all your plates, but you've been collecting more! It has been fun seeing the things from the previous house used again here, and of course your newest goodies too. Enjoyed all the pictures!
Donna
I LOVE plates on walls and all around the house. I have so many and would not trade them for anything! I love all of yours too and how you display them. No one is more talented at display and decorating than beautiful Rhoda!!

Love those plates - every one of them! I have the black and white checked ones and I adore them.
I really enjoyed this post. I have a very large collection of plates that I decorate with but I picked up a few new ideas from you. BTW...fabulous blog!
Julie
Hi Rhoda Angela at Cottagemagpie referenced your plates so Ihad to take a look for myself. I love plates too! Most of mine have come from garage sales over the years. I first only had blue & white but now I have many different colors. You and I have very similar tastes in decorating. I think you said that once in a comment to me also!!
I'm in love with your decor ideas I'm adding you to my blog list, ok? Have a great week! :) Vanessa
